About Mindworks Technologies

Mindworks Technologies Inc. was founded in 2017 by Dr. Bradley J. Best, a cognitive scientist and software engineer with over two decades of experience modeling complex human reasoning.

Mindworks continues a legacy that began in 2006 with Adaptive Cognitive Systems (AdCogSys) — a U.S.-based R&D company that advanced applied cognitive modeling for aviation, defense, and human–machine systems. After relocating to Canada in 2019, Mindworks evolved into a new kind of research and technology firm: one that integrates human reasoning, artificial intelligence, and modern web technologies to create transparent, adaptive systems for real-world use.

Approach

1. Understand the Task — We analyze how people perceive, decide, and act in complex domains.
2. Model the Process — We construct computational models that reflect those patterns of reasoning and performance.
3. Build the System — We design software that applies those models through AI, analytics, and user-facing tools.
4. Teach the Method — Through workshops and online courses, we share what we’ve learned so teams can apply these methods themselves.
